Post catastrophe USA is a hard, horrible way to live. Daily survival was the priority and all else was less of a worry. I loved these characters right away. Abe has been alone for 8 years and then he found Russel, mauled by a bear. Abe saves him. A few weeks later the men are hunting and find Celina. She had lost her husband and was searching for someone to live with. She is pregnant, she needs help and shelter. She'd never survive the desolate land by herself. With the three strangers thrown together, they each have their losses to deal with, and a new life to forge. During daily chores of tending the animals, dealing with the new snow and cold, Celina takes over the cooking. In such a situation, the men and Celina grew to have feeling for each other. It was common for two or three men to protect and care for one woman and become a family. (Abe's character reminded me of Shayne, in Leah Brooke's "Dakota Ranch Crude"). Loved that guy, too! Deeply feeling characters, an interesting tale of world desolation and erotic sexiness make these Marla Monroe stories worthwhile.
Beautiful romance, excellent reality, and love carries this book along. Highly recommend!! ENJOY !!!

I'm loving this series and this book was a great addition to it. After losing his wife and children to the disasters plaguing the country Abe moves to an old survival camp on the edge of the Border Lands to live in peace alone, first he finds a man who has been mauled by a bear and needs to be nursed back to health. Russell lost his wife to black market traders after thinking he could protect her himself rather than bring another man into their home, they killed her while trying to take her. Weeks later they find Celina who had just lost her husband in a black market traders attack while they were trying to capture her, she is pregnant, and homeless but still thinks she can take care of herself.
They are 3 free spirits with a lot of bat memories but they need each other to live in this hard new world
Loved that she had two men on the string or in the house. Isn't this most women's dream???? It's mine.
when these book's started they were great. you could almost belive something like this could come ture. Now they are almost justed the same just . only more sex.
